My plans continue.....
front wall.....this will come down to if they raise the Smart Board....For some reason when our building were made they were under the illusions that 8th graders (let alone 6th and 7th graders which I dont not teach!) are all under the size of 5 feet tall.
I can say I have taught boys at short as 4'8" to 6'5' tall. Either way the boards were mounted for midget teacher (which I am) with no access to step stools ( need to buy)))))) and children who are tiny!!! NOT...Not to mention I teach history with these things called rolled down maps! when they are mounted to short boards no one can see them. Hence pointless!
Back to the point. IF all goes well, I will mount a new large white board up front, replacing the small board, left by one of the last four teachers in that room.
Then I will be building using milk crates and shelves book shelves to go underneath to give me a staging area for paper work!!!
I had this set up last year but had the text books there, I personally hated looking at that so.....we will try this!!!!

setting the plan into motion!
Its July and Im on vacation, and strangely I find it the best time to think about what I want to do in my class next year. Hoping all over pinterest and finding a 1000 and one great ideas, re doing my file cabinets and finding another 1000 and 1 more ideas of things, I have done before or want to do..... Surfing the net finding another 1000 plus one excellent sources, and yes more great ideas.
Now to go from great ideas and tons of them to figuring out what I want to do this coming year.
What I know!
Wiki's a keeper.....My favorite thing ever.
Flipping .....continuing to master that !
theme!!!! Red, white and Blue, Cant beat for 8th Social Studies...
Projects ----9/11 and PPP ( past present and possibilities !)I really want to get the CIVIL WAR ONE IN!!!

I refused to be a slave to a time line!!!!!
concept based is the way to go if others would just get on board!!! I am sorry I have common assessment theory, not when you are dealing with others stuck in the past.
Classroom-
Waiting to see if the boards are moved the way I want. If so I basically have what I want in my head. Now to pull it out. Well I have a plan if the boards arent moved.
Organization- again the plan is in the head now to pull it out. Bought the teacher toolbox, actually two of them one for the podium and one for the cabinet.
Ridding myself of my desk, who needs it when you have a computer podium and a teacher one, both the shelves and storage areas.
The last two years I have had only student tables, six, but I am going to try and used 8 and spread them kiddies thinner. Removing the big unused desk, the second rolling cabinet (for cheer so it can go in that closet) I think I can still maximize my floor space, and not have needless clutter. One of my vices and biggest pet peeves,....

most pdfs are now by folders, except for latest batch that I procured.

paint tape dispensers
decide on the pencil blocks
make book shelves curtains.
prints pictures from year book....cut them out and separate by last name......
Set UP 17 notebooks, set up files
Make objective notebooks.....( no where being close to being even started (tic toc tic toc)
Buy clip boards and either paint (most likey) or cover
Make door signs--- Conceived just need to make and print!
Make the tree!!! big one!
bulletin boards
make magnets
got to get that word wall going ..... put that off for toooo long!
